Archaeological Impact Assessments (AIA)
Archaeological Impact Assessments (AIAs) are performed on
proposed developments to identify and evaluate potential impacts
to any archaeological or cultural heritage remains that may exist
on a property.
AIAs are conducted under a Heritage Inspection Permit issued by the Archaeology Branch under Section 14 of the Heritage Conservation Act. An AIA involves a combination of existing document review, discussions with First Nations and field investigations.
