A TUS will consist of an overview of traditional and contemporary aboriginal land use, resource use, and economy in the vicinity of a proposed project. Traditional use site localities are those areas identified by First Nations’ communities as areas of important traditional practices. There is often a correspondence between archaeological and TUS studies, as these localities and sites compliment each other as evidence of past human activity on the landscape. TUS information, when available, is often incorporated into AOA modeling, particularly the locations of known travel corridors or trails, as well as hunting camps and fishing sites,
Kleanza will work with interested First Nations to map and document past, ongoing, and potential land and resource uses within or adjacent to a project. All TUS information is considered confidential and is the sole property of the First Nations.
If your project requires a TUS study, please contact us for a cost estimate.
